This collection is a series of oral histories on Bill Lawyer, the longtime Public Works Director for the City of Keizer. Bill’s journey with the city began in 1989 when he started as a Water Works operator, steadily advancing through the ranks to become Public Works Superintendent and, ultimately, Director in 2012. Over the years, he has overseen critical projects that have shaped Keizer’s infrastructure, from enhancing water services to improving parks and public facilities. Through these oral histories, Bill shares his experiences, challenges, and insights from more than three decades of dedicated service, offering a firsthand account of the city’s growth and evolution.
